What You Need to Know
For those with children or who value space, often yes. Prices are 30–50% lower, transport is good and the quality of life is higher.
The Cacilhas–Cais do Sodré ferry (10 min), the Fertagus train over the 25 de Abril Bridge, the Vasco da Gama Bridge for those coming from the south. Many commuters prefer the ferry.
Yes — vehicle limits in the summer season and some beaches requiring advance booking, to protect the Natural Park. It is that protection that lifts the value of property in the area.
It has a growing local life, with permanent residents and quality second homes, everyday shops and a community taking shape.
